Report by- Matthew Jones Lead Coach
The U11s had an almost full squad as 37 of our boys headed to Sevenoaks for a chilly Sunday morning fixture, with an early start of 0830. Our hosts had planned a good mix of warm-ups and fixtures, for us to test ourselves against our two local rivals.
With each club bringing three teams, everyone played three matches and it was great to see how all three clubs have developed our players over the last year and beyond.
Our boys rose to the occasion and looked great, playing really well as a team for each other, they were much more aware than they sometimes are of both danger and opportunity, defending and taking them respectively, and they comfortably managed their rotating positions.
Additional moments of individual brilliance alongside some good passing, rucking and support play made it a pleasure to watch! And is testament to the coaching over the past few months and to see that they have actually been listening and focusing.
A great morning by all three clubs, and I’m delighted to come away in the knowledge that our boys are probably just ahead of our two local rivals!
Looking forward to the return in March at TJs!
