A delayed start to the 2025 rugby then for TJs senior men although the TJ Ladies were out of the blocks last Saturday with a fantastic 30-22 home win over Jersey.
The seemingly non-stop rain has flooded the sportsground but the water levels are ebbing and flowing dramatically and throw in the cold snap and things are certainly a tad iffy under foot (or flipper)
Both the N2E and C3K squads are away from The Slade this Saturday though with tough games at Sevenoaks and Brockleians respectively.
Many will recall the tricky conditions at The Paddock last season and the going is going to be at least heavy again come Saturday at 2pm.
Both squads will have benefitted from a lengthy break and should be raring to go as TJs look to hold on to top spot in the table whilst Oaks look to keep their recent good form going after wins over Combe, Worthing and Guernsey and a solitary loss to Canterbury last time out.
The 2s head to Brockleians, never an easy trip, knowing that nothing but a solid performance will be enough to maintain their lead at the top of Counties 3 Kent. Discipline will be crucial after T Wells came unstuck against Brockleians when they made the same trip just before Christmas and coming off very much second best
On Sunday the TJs Academy take on T Wells and the U16 Boys travel to Combe, both in Kent League action. The U16 Girls head to Sevenoaks as well on Sunday.
Don't forget the TJs Academy are away to Wasps FC in the National Cup on 19th January whilst the U16 Girls are in their Regional Semi Final away at Pulborough as well
