N2E victory struggle at times and NCC defeat but 2s march on whilst Minis and Junior Girls to the fore for TJs

A surprisingly dry and mild weekend proved deceptive for TJs as the going was especially heavy for many although the lighter-booted Minis and Junior Girls along with the 2s on the hoof faired better than most.
On Saturday the N2E squad edged out Wimbledon at The Slade in a 19-12 victory. Leading 19-0 after 45 minutes it looked like TJs might run out comfortable winners and with a try bonus point but they didn't trouble the scoreboard again and Wimbledon took them too close for comfort at times. But a win is a win and the squad will be hoping for a similar result but stronger performance away at Worthing next Saturday.
The result leaves TJs in 7th but with a game in hand after Canterbury slipped above them with an impressive 10-34 win away at Guernsey. Higher up the N2E table and things have got very tight indeed after Dorking drew 18 all with Henley, BSE overturned Barnes 25-22 and Esher romped to a 59-7 win over North Walsham.
Also on Saturday at The Slade we had the 2s in Counties 3 Kent action against league leaders Old Alleynians 2s. TJs won this scrap 16-11 and whilst they remain third there's just a one point difference between them and the top.
The 3s were in friendly action away at Maidstone where we understand they missed out on a win
Sunday saw the Academy in NCC third round action with Dorking the visitors to The Slade. Sadly the squad missed out in a tense and tough game 5-12 and bow out of the Cup competition.
The U13 Boys travelled to Medway on Sunday for a Kent Cup match up and ran out 3-1 winners after trailing at the break.
The U10 Girls (pictured) joined them at Medway for a joint training session with many of the girls making their first TJ outing
And the U14 Girls joined their U12 counterparts in their own Kent Waterfall Cup Final after topping their pool in qualifying.
They drew 5 all with Beccs Valley and secured a bonus point 20-0 win over Dartfordians and they will head to Sidcup for their final in February
