TJs were again bathed in sunshine and again things looked to be going awry as BSE were the visitors. A topsy turvy first half with 9 tries, 4 to TJs and 5 to BSE, set the initial tone but the second half was more of a nail biter until TJs came good in the final quarter.
Early tries from Curtis Barnes and Howard Packman plus conversions from Sam Evans set TJs off to a good start but BSE scored 4 tries of their own to lead before Curtis Barnes added his second and Connor Lloyd also scored. A fifth and converted try for BSE saw TJs go into the break 28-27 to the good.
Everything tightened up in the second half and scoring was not so free for either side. BSE added a sixth try and conversion but with Josh Tusler on for Howard Packman, TJs added a try and a penalty from Tusler to go in front before Curtis Barnes scored his hat trick in the final minutes to give TJs a 41-34 win.
With Barnes losing 24-26 at home to Old Albanians Dorking stepped up to second with a 29-31 win away at Guernsey. TJs head to the Island next Saturday for their game in hand and with a 3 point lead at the top all is still to play for
The 2s were also in action with a C3K game away at Old Gravesendians. A 22-38 win sees them 12 points clear at the top and just the one game to play, a home tie against T Wells on the 5th April
