Yesterday morning TJRFC hosted a successful Kent RFU U8 Minis Festival, showcasing the skills and sportsmanship of young rugby players from 16 clubs across Kent, who provided 40 teams.

With over 300 children participating, there was lots of rugby played in an exemplary spirit. Events like this showcase the best traditions of our sport.

The U8s at TJs provided 5 squads of players to take on the rest of Kent’s Finest. As they come to the end of 4 years of Tag rugby they can be very proud of how they have all developed as a happy bunch of children who enjoy playing their rugby together.

The Festival was a resounding success, promoting the core values of rugby: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.

None of it would have been possible without the efforts of the organisers and volunteers who helped plan and set the day up. A huge thank you must go out to you, as without you, willing to give your Sunday mornings, events such as this simply would not happen.

And finally a massive thank you for all the mums and dads who baked a cake for the stall, to raise funds for the minis. I think there was only flapjack left…!
