Junior Girls Section (U11 – U18)
TJs Junior Section 4 of 5

4. Junior Girls Section (U11 – U18)

Girls rugby is a recent addition to the TJs family. It is a fast growing area of the club.

Overseen by Girls Section Manager, Ed Stockbridge, the club offers girls only playing opportunities from U11 through to U18 (School Years 4 – 13).

As per RFU rules and regulations, girls play female only rugby from U12 (Year 7). TJs offers girls rugby in all junior age groups. In addition, the club has created a girls only U11 team. Formed of players from Years 4, 5 & 6, the squad has its own fixture list and plays contact rugby against other U11 girls teams.

With many clubs in the region also forming similar squads, there are an increasing number of local teams to train and play with. The U11 squad offers an alternative pathway into junior girls rugby from playing mixed rugby with the boys through to the end of Year 6.

New players across all age groups are always welcome. No prior experience is required. Come down for a free taster session. When not playing matches, the Girls Section trains 10am to 12pm on Sunday mornings at the club (September to April).

Please contact Girls Section Manager, Ed Stockbridge for further information.
